Logo for Story Circle Storytelling combines the intensity of a solo performance with the intimacy of a face-to-face conversation. "Storytelling at its best is mutual creation. Through the interaction between teller and listener, storytelling speaks to the inner child to nurture the human spirit." - Ellin Greene, author of Storytelling: Art & Technique.

Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”

Theme: The Unspoken Story: Evoking the Divine through Music, Movement, and Mantra
Facilitators: Virginia Miller & Frank Lombardo
The Dances of Universal Peace inspire stories to honor the richness and diversity of our traditions, discovering that which we hold in common, connecting with each other in mind and heart.  The Dances of Universal Peace use voice, sound and movement to explore the universal messages found in the world's spiritual traditions. “Moving meditations” or body prayers, the Dances use chant, music, and dance as a vehicle for exploring sacred themes. The Dances, accompanied by live music, are taught and then experienced in the moment by all in attendance. Participation, not performance, is the focus; feeling, intent and spirit being more important to the experience than form, technique, and skill. Virginia Miller and Frank Lombardo are Certified Teachers of the Dances of Universal Peace, as granted by the International Network for the Dances of Universal Peace (
http://www.peaceworksdancesna.org/index.htm).  Come join the Dance!!

In this six session class we’ll explore “sparks” - moments of our experience that shine a light on who we are and what matters deeply to us. We’ll practice unconditional listening, and offer appreciation to each other for what echoes in our consciousness when we hear a tale. Wine and Chocolate … oh and Stories of Course!

By Kate Dudding
A sumptuous time was had by all at the second benefit for both Story Circle and SACC TV-16 on Thursday April 2, 2009. Held in The Fenimore Gallery at Proctors where Word Plays is staged,  Wine & Chocolate: Stories of Decadence, Blarney and Mirth featured stories by Joe Doolittle, Kate Dudding, Jeannine Laverty and Joe Peck, a chocolate fountain and many selections of tasty fruit and desserts, and a gourmet selection of wine. About 50 people attended and reveled in the wine, chocolate and stories.
Many thanks to those who made this benefit possible:
